Rabbit Activities

Be a some-bunny and create a rabbit event or class.

Stage a rabbit Olympics to match bunny skills to people skills.  Jackrabbits can jump about 20 feet.  Rabbits run about 18 mph.

Enjoy dancing the “Bunny Hop.”

Make up or retell some rabbit jokes, i.e. “What’s the best way to catch a wild rabbit?”  Answer:   Stand in the woods and make a sound like a carrot.

(Check out the book What Do You Call a Dumb Bunny? by Marc Brown, Atlantic-Little Brown Books.)

Host a bunny story time and read some rabbit books, both fiction and non-fiction.

Challenge children to write a “tell me why” story, i.e. Tell Me Why the Rabbit Has Long Ears.

List some famous bunnies or things named after rabbits or hares.

 Make bunnies from children’s fingerprints.

Create a rabbit puzzle—search-a-word, maze, crossword, etc.

Make a special rabbit snack with refrigerator biscuits and raisins.
