Little Peter Rabbit

(Sung to:  “Battle Hymn”)

Little Peter Rabbit has a fly upon his nose.

Little Peter Rabbit has a fly upon his nose.

Little Peter Rabbit has a fly upon his nose,

And he flicked it ‘til it flew away.

(Every time word “rabbit” is sung, make rabbit ears.  When sing “fly,” make flying motions.  As sing “nose,” point to nose.  To turn this tune into a singing game, sing the song four times.  Leave out the word “rabbit” on the second verse, but do the motions.  On the third verse, leave out “rabbit” and “fly,” but do the motions.  On the fourth verse, leave out “rabbit,” “fly” and “nose,” but do the motions.

The Little Bunny

A fat little bunny with ears so tall,                            (put hands on head like ears)

And two little eyes—just this small                    (point to eyes)

Went hopping along to get some lunch.                (pretend to hop)

He found an orange carrot—crunch, crunch, crunch.            (pretend to eat a carrot)

While he was eating and having such fun,

CRASH went a noise!  He started to run!                        (clap when say “crash”)

All you could see as he went racing by                    (hand over eyes like looking in distance)

Was his powderpuff tail waving good-bye.            (wave good-bye)

All bunnies have pink shiny noses.  Their powder puff’s on the wrong end.

Here is a bunny with ears so funny,                        (make a fist with 2 fingers up for ears)

And here is his hole in the ground.                       (make other fist to resemble hole)

When a noise he hears, he wiggles his ears.            (wiggle finger “ears”)

And pops in his hole in the ground.                       (put “bunny fist” into hole)

Five little bunnies jumping on the bed, one fell off and hurt his little head.

Momma called the doctor and the doctor said, “No more bunnies jumping on the bed!”

Four little bunnies jumping on the bed, one fell off and hurt his little head.

            Continue with rhyme until “no more bunnies jumping on the bed.”

(Sung to: “B-I-N-G-O)

I know a rabbit with long pink ears and bunny is his name-oh.

B-U-N-N-Y, B-U-N-N-Y, B-U-N-N-Y.

And Bunny is his name-oh.

            (Clap as sing each letter of B-U-N-N-Y then on each additional verse leave off one letter and just clap with the rhythm in place of the letter.  EX. third verse—clap, clap, clap, N-Y)
